All saws mentioned are fixed saws that come in a protective case that can be attached to the body if wanted. They have the special Gom rubber handles which gives exceptional comfort whilst cutting. The Gomtaro, Natanoko and Genki saws have NON - set teeth. This means that they give a very smooth, easy cut. The Masaru has a SET tooth. This means that the cutting is very fast and aggressive. You can NOT sharpen the Gomtaro or the Natanoko, but they will stay sharp for an extremely long time due to a special treatment on the tips of the teeth. The Masaru and Genki CAN be sharpened. These are ALL PULL saws. Do not put excessive pressure on the forward stroke as this can cause the blade to be damaged. All pressure should be as you are drawing the blade towards yourself. These saws are designed to do the work for you, so only a very small amount of pressure is required as you PULL the blade. When you push it you are simply clearing the wood out of the teeth. Blades are all hollow-ground which reduces the chance of getting the blade stuck whilst cutting. There is a protective coating on all 4 blades, but we still strongly recommend that all saw blades are cleaned with the EASy cleaning spray and then sprayed with a Lanolin lubricant after use.
